Ruth C. Kiefer

Ruth C. Kiefer, 86, of St. Charles died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles. Ruth was born April 27, 1922 in Winona to Grover and Adeline (Streiff) Brosig. She married George Kiefer April 27, 1945 in Elba. The lived in the Elba and St. Charles area their entire married lives. Ruth worked as the business manager at St. Charles high school, where she worked 30 years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and Rosary Society. Ruth enjoyed reading. She was an avid democrat. Survivors include three sons' Nick (Nenita) Kiefer of Shanghai, China, Bob (Mary) Kiefer of St. Cloud and Chuck (Debbie) Kiefer of St. Paul, a son-in-law Marvin Kleene of Pulman, WA, 12 grandchildren and a brother Frank Brosig of Altura. She was preceded in death by her husband George on August 2, 1989 and her daughter Charlotte Kleene. A Funeral Mass will be 1PM Saturday October 25, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with The Reverend James F. Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Elba. Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Friday October 24th at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles.
