The funeral for Ruby A Sturgis Mrs. Sturgis, 92, of Chatfield died March 18, 2005 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.Ruby Alice Hanson was born December 16, 1912 in Renton Washington. Her family moved to Minnesota where Ruby grew up on a farm in rural Simpson, MN. She married Carl Sturgis on October 10, 1937 and they continued to farm in the St Charles area. In 1958 they moved to Altura Minnesota where she worked at Hubbard Milling for over 20 years. Carl died in April 1975. After retiring in 1978, she moved to St Charles where she was a member of, Royal Neighbors, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In 1992 she moved to Chatfield and lived with her daughter. Ruby was a member of the Berea Moravian ChurchShe enjoyed her children and grandchildren, cooking, traveling, spending time with her friends, and helping others.Survivors include: three daughters, Ruth (Henry) Nolte of Hammond Wisconsin, Pam (Carl) Skime of Kasson, and Barb (Steve) Clark of Chatfield, three sons, Richard (Lynn) of Kasson, Robert of Maple Grove, and Gene (Sandy) of Rochester, 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister Geneva Brown and a brother Richard Hanson from Rochester.She was preceded in death by: a daughter Marjorie (Leroy) Haverly, 1 sister, and 2 brothers.Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the St. Charles United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes ?
