Roy Earl Schultz

Lewiston, Roy E. Schultz "George", 72, of Lewiston died Tuesday August 7, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. Roy was born September 27, 1934 in Bethany to John and Florence (Prudoehl) Schultz. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953, where he had been very active in sports. Roy served in the Army from August of 1957 to August of 1959. He and Jean Duellman were married January 16, 1960 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston. Roy began working for Lewiston Monument in March of 1955 and has worked there for more than 50 years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, served on Lewiston Fire Department for 25 years, serving as chief for six years. He was also active in the Lewiston Pork Masters and Lewiston Sportsman's Club. Survivors include his wife Jean, 10 children, Terry (Karen) Schultz of Rollingstone; Cindy (Mark) Kreidermacher of Eagan; Michael "Butch" Schultz of Lewiston; Rochelle (Dan) Daley of Lewiston; Scott (Linda) Schultz of Rollingstone; Brian (Stacy) Schultz of St. Charles; Heidi (Brent) Matzke of Lewiston; Julie (Brian) Ruhoff of Altura; Jennifer (Charlie) Matzke of Lewiston and Melissa (Eric) Speltz of Altura, 18 grandchildren, four brothers, John Schultz; Eugene "Louie" (Marlene) Schultz; Daniel (Lorraine) Schultz; Richard (Joanne) Schultz all of Lewiston, three sisters, Betty Barber; Judy (John) Randall both of Lewiston and Dorothy (Dean) Nuszloch of Utica. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10AM Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 4-8 PM Friday and 9-10AM Saturday.
