Rowena M. Guderian, 99, of Eyota, entered into rest at Seasons Hospice on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Born October 21, 1912, both her parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew preceded her in death. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Connie Phillips and her nephew's wife, Sandra Guderian; also, great nieces, Mrs. Kim (Tom) Gallogly, Mrs. Pam (David) Van Winkle, Mrs. Kay (Phil) Evers, Ms. Dana Guderian, Mrs. Dawn (Judd) Wolfe, Mrs. Robin (Dean) Bruckschen, Mrs. Krystal (Frank) Kincell, and great nephew, Kevin (Lissa) Schneider.She graduated from Winona General Hospital as a registered nurse in 1933. After several years of general duty, private duty and office nursing, she attended the University of Minnesota's medical school of Anesthesia, graduating in 1943. During her anesthesia career, she was at Owatonna City Hospital, St. Paul Midway and Riverview Hospitals.She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota.After retirement in October 1977, she volunteered at United Hospital, Red Cross, church, School District 197 and the Senior Citizens Organization.She enjoyed fishing, sewing, needle point, knitting and reading. She traveled extensively; Australia was her favorite country.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 20 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Mark Woodward officiating.
