Rosa "Rosita" Maria Alvarez Moreno, 51, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 from injuries sustained in a car accident along with her sister and best friend Blanka Alvarez Burt. Rosita was born April 9, 1963 to Gabino Alvarez Ramirez and Celia Moreno Gomez in Mexico City, Mexico. Rosita attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Field. She was a member of "San Juan de Los Lagos" church in Mexico City. Rosita began her career as a Pediatric Nurse at the "Hospital Infantil de Mexico Federico Gomez" then she advanced in her career by transferring to PEMEX and the last 22 years she's had the pleasure of enjoying her Pediatric career at the "Hospital de Ginecología y Obstetricia 4, of IMSS". - For the last 10 years Rosita has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her boyfriend, Pedro Serrano Guillen, along with his loving children, Pedro "Pepin" Serrano, and Marycarmen Serrano. She also got to experience a granddaughter on Pepin's behalf: Ximena Serrano. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling to explore out of comfort places, exotic food, experience different cultures, but most importantly dancing, singing, and eating with her beloved family. Rosita is survived by her daughter, Jessica Airaly Alvarez; mother, Celia Moreno Alvarez; boyfriend, Pedro Serrano Guillen and his family; brother-in-law, Kerm Burt; sister in law, Kim Alvarez; nieces, Heather Wirt, Alexandra Danae Alvarez, Mariana Moreno Alvarez, Lilana Moreno Alvarez; nephew, Ricardo Moreno Alvarez and many other friends and family. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Faustino Alvarez and Longina Ramirez; maternal grandparents, Pascual Moreno and Lucina Gomez; father Gabino Alvarez Ramirez; brother Faustino "Tino" Alvarez; and sister, Blanka Alvarez Burt. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Kurt Farrell, Reverend Shawn Haremza and Reverend Jose Morales officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles and one hour prior to mass at church.
