Utica, Rosella "Rose" Hermanson, 79, of rural Utica died Thursday October 4, 2007 in Winona. Rose was born May 7, 1928 in LaCrosse to Randolph and Lillian (Helland) Erickson. She grew up near Whalan. On June 10, 1946 she and Arvid Hermanson were married in the Peterson church parsonage. They farmed in rural Utica their entire married lives. Rose worked for United Packaging of Peterson for many years. She was member of North Prairie Lutheran Church and was active in the quilting group, dinner committee and W.E.L.C.A.. Rose enjoyed wood working, quilting, caring for her sheep and taking care of her yard. Survivors include five children, Ronald (Edith) Hermanson of Red Wing; Merlin (Wendy) Hermanson of Utica; Arden Hermanson of Elgin, Linda (David) Hundorf of Rushford and Roger Hermanson of Minnesota City, 16 grandchildren; Sheri (Jon), Kimberly, Mark (Mary), T.J., Christy, Michael, Tara, Lisa, Samantha, Kelly, Nancy (Josh), Brian, Kevin, Jenny, Jason and Lori, 10 great-grandchildren; Thomas, Taylor, Audrey, Indra, Ethan, Matthew, Kyla, Paige, Allie and Ora, a brother Herbie Erickson of Caledonia and a sister Lorraine Anfinson of Peterson. Her husband Arvid died January 28, 2006. She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson Joshua and a son-in-law William Yonts. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at North Prairie Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ronald Warnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
