Rose Marie Sturm, 86, of Winona, passed away at Winona Health ER on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Rose was born in Canton, IL on January 26, 1930. She moved to Peoria, IL then to Macomb, IL where she grew up. She graduated from Macomb High School in 1949. She married John Sturm in July of 1950. They lived in Macomb until 1957 at which time John started to pursue the profession of an over-the-road trucker. This resulted in the beginning of numerous moves in her lifetime. First to Galesburg, IL (1 yr) then to Rockford, IL where she raised their family. In 1976, she followed John to South Bend, IN. They resided in Edwardsburg, MI until 1986. Following his work, she moved to Coldwater, MI. John retired as a teamster driver in 1989. Upon retirement, they started a food concession business. When Rose turned 65 they closed the business and bought a travel trailer which let them become "sno birds". After two years of migrating between WI and FL, they purchased a home in Lake Placid, FL where they spent 10 happy years together. As she aged, they moved to Winona to be closer to family. They moved into Valley View Tower in 2006 where she remained until her death. She is survived by her husband, John Sr; daughters, Mary K Kirschmann of Winona and JoAnn Porter of Foley, AL; son, John Sturm Jr of Hayes, VA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Cozette Gray of Macomb, IL and brother, Bob Gray of Erie, IL. She truly loved all of us. Per Roses's wishes there will be no services.
