Ronald Waldo Bremseth

Rushford, MNRonald W. Bremseth, 87, died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Ron was born August 23, 1922, in Canton, MN, to Engmar and Clara (Larson) Bremseth. Ron served in the Marine Corps during WWII, serving in the Pacific theater. Ron married Norma Langord on November 5, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. They returned to Rushford following the war and he began a career in farming. After selling his farm he worked for the Production Credit Association. Norma preceded him in death in 1992. Ron married Evelyn Olness Moran on January 8, 1994. Ron loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed playing cards, and was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church and an active member of the Lions Club for many years. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; five children: Suzanne (Dennis) Kastelic of Pueblo, CO, Cheryl (Ron) Ostern of Guam, Michael Bremseth of Cambridge, MN, Heidi (Greg) Peterson of St. Paul, MN, and Dawn (Mark) Rademacher of Eden Prairie, MN; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Lorna Rasmussen of Rushford, MN, and Wanda Hammer of Green Bay, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Norma, and two sisters: Joyce Bremseth and ElDoris "Dode" Hanson.Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29th, at 11:00am, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Lanesboro, MN. Friends may call on Thursday, January 28th at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel from 5-8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
