RUSHFORD, MINN. - Ronald Leo "Ronnie" Eide, 71, of Rushford died on Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford following a lengthy battle with cancer. Ronnie was born on October 8, 1935, in Freemont, Minn. to Julian and Agnes (Johnsgaard) Eide. Ronnie was raised in the Rushford area where he remained his whole life. He married Janette Orlikowski on June 14, 1958, in Winona, Minn. He was self employed for 16 years as a milk hauler for Midland Coop. He was a school bus driver for 30 years at the Rushford School District. He also worked for Loerch Implement in Houston, Minn. Ronnie enjoyed dancing, playing cards, camping, and spending time with family. Ronnie is survived by two daughters: Barb (Michael) Soppa of Peterson, Minn., and Melanie (Jerry) Przybylski of Keystone, South Dakota; one son David (Peggy Sveen) Eide of Winona, Minn.; fifteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; six brothers: Alvin Eide of Rushford, Minn., Lawrence (Lila) Eide of Wilson, Minn., Milton (Betty) Eide of Rushford, Minn., Elmer (Viola) Eide of Winona, Minn., Clifford (Rosie) Eide of Rushford, Minn., and Maynard (Eva) Eide of Rushford, Minn.; one sister: Leona (Daryl) Block of Winona, Minn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janette; parents; sister, Ovidia; brother, Norman, and a daughter, Linda. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Peterson, Minn. with the Rev. Wade Davick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
