Ronald A. Mierau

RUSHFORD, MINN. - Ronald A. Mierau, 66, of Rushford, died on Monday, January 15, 2007, at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Ron was born on April 9, 1940, in Money Creek, Minn. to Arthur and Agnes (Gaustad) Mierau. He was raised in Money Creek. He moved with his family to Hixton, Wis. where he graduated from Hixton High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Carol Bellock on March 9, 1963 in Rushford. Ron moved to Rushford where he worked for 38 years as an engineer at TRW. He was a very civic minded person. He was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church and was on the church council. Ron was on the Rushford City Council, member of the Jaycees, Rushford school board, Rushford Ambulance, Rushford Fire Dept., Rushford EDA, American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife: Carol; mother: Agnes Mierau of Rushford; one son: Dean (Kim) Mierau of Rushford; one daughter: Dawn (Jim) Mayasich of Eagan, Minn.; four grandchildren; one brother: Larry (Jane) Mierau of Rushford; and one sister: Judy (John) Brand of Rushford. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Church.
