Rolland Herman Steinfeldt

Rolland Herman Steinfeldt, 78, of Houston died Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis. Rolland was born on December 11, 1926, in Ridgeway, Minn. to Ernest and Anna (Larson) Steinfeldt.He was baptized shortly after birth and confirmed at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Pickwick, Minn. Rolland served in the U.S. Army during WWII from April 1945 to December 1946, overseas duty in Japan. He was a member of the Arnet - Sheldon American Legion Post 423. On April 19th 1952, he married Geraldine May Unnasch at St. John's Lutheran Church in Nodine, Minn. Rolland and Geraldine farmed on South Ridge until 2002 when they retired and moved to Houston, Minn. Rolland is survived by his wife, Geraldine; four children: Jeffery (Patricia) Steinfeldt of Dakota, Minn., Randolf (Kitricia) Steinfeldt of Houston, Minn.; Ruth Steinfeldt and Rachel Steinfeldt, both of Winona, Minn.; one sister, Florence (Russell) Bublitz of Winona, Minn.; two brothers: Paul (Anita) Steinfeldt of Houston, Minn. and Edward (Eleanor) Steinfeldt of Ridgeway, Minn.; one sister-in-law: Dorma Steinfeldt of Houston, Minn.; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Elnora Steinfeldt and Dorothy Frauenkron; and four brothers: Harold, LeRoy, Victor and Emil. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, Minn. with the Rev. Joseph A. Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in the Bush Cemetery in Ridgeway. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
