Robert W. Schlueter

January 1, 1900 — March 31, 2015

It is not the number of days we are given but, the spirit in which we live.....Robert Wayne Schlueter was born January 31, 1949 to Douglas and Leona Maxine Schlueter in Le Sueur Minnesota. Bob graduated from Le Sueur high school in 1967. Upon graduation Bob joined the Navy, he proudly served our country for 10 years. In 1978 Bob married Geraldine Nyfeler. They had 36 wonderful years together. Always at each other's side, each caring for the other. Bob was forever both a student and teacher, he loved to learn. Through his love of travel and books Bob was always increasing his knowledge and loved to share with others. He gifted his family with his love of travel and shared the wonders of our great country from vacations to weekend adventures. Bob's work life began as a young man in Le Sueur as a paperboy. He went on to work in sales and most recently retired as a maintenance man for the Rochester Public Schools. Bob spent the majority of his career life as a draftsman, he drew not just houses for families but homes. Always a servant to his church and family, he shared his woodworking talent with many. Ranging from toy boxes for his nieces and nephews to many a church project, he left his fingerprints for us everywhere. Bob believed in leaving the world a better place than he found it and he did just that....Truly he had a life well lived. Bob is survived by his wife Geri, son Ron (Deann) Schlueter, grandchildren Ashlynn and Kael and special nephew and niece Jack and Olivia Arndt, sister Nancy, brother John and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father Doug, mother Maxine and nephew Nathan. There will be a memorial service for Bob at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rushford with the Rev. Kristin Rice officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
