Robert V. Bublitz

Robert "Rob" V. Bublitz Sr., 71, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Rob was born March 3, 1936 in Winona, MN to Ervin Sr. and Alone (Garwell) Bublitz. He married Sally Moreno in Winona, MN on September 14, 1957. Rob was a 1954 graduate of Winona Senior High and 1958 graduate of Winona State University. Rob owned and operated the Out-Dor store in Winona which has been in the family for 68 years. Rob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Trempealeau, WI. He was also active at the Y.M.C.A., member of the Elks Lodge, Ducks Unlimited and he and his wife Sally were foster parents for 21 children. Rob was a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Winona.Survivors include his wife, Sally; children, Cindy (Walt) Algarin of Reno, NV, Rob Jr. (Sabrina) Bublitz of Coeur D Alene, ID, Lisa (Mike) Conway of Winona, MN, Jennifer (Mick) Brusco of Kirkland, WA, Brian Bublitz of Winona, MN, Rose Bublitz of Reno, NV and Ashlie Bublitz of Winona, MN; fourteen grandchildren, Lexie, Jake, Joe, Chelsea, Jessica, Mike, Alexandra, Mackenzie, Jordyn, Dante, Luke, Mitchie, Colie and Robby Jr.; brother, Ervin Bublitz Jr. of Winona, MN; sisters, Bonnie (Roland) Woodford of Winona, MN and Sally Hanner (Lester Dore) of Madison, WI; great friends, Charlie Kubicek and Bob Duncanson; and his favorite dog, Schnucki. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, L/Cpl. John David Bublitz U.S.M.C. and two brothers, the Rev. William Bublitz and John Bublitz.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 3:00pm at Pleasant Valley Church with the Rev. Rick Iglesias and Rev. Pat Clinton officiating. Interment will take place at later date. Friends may call at Pleasant Valley Church on Saturday from 1:30pm until the time of service.
