Robert Reiland

Robert “Bob” Kenneth Reiland 86, of Eyota, MN passed away at his home February 8, 2025. Robert was born June 16, 1938, to Max and Ethel (Johnston) Reiland in rural Grand Meadow, MN. After graduating high school Robert went to work at IBM in Rochester, MN, he retired in 1990, while also farming.

On May 1, 1970, Robert married the love of his life, Lorraine Merkel. They raised six children in rural Eyota. Robert enjoyed in his earlier years fox hunting, trap shooting, and snowmobiling. He loved farming, raising cattle (heifers), his dogs, and grand dogs. He also had a love for sweets.

Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine; children Michael (Lori) Reiland, Dover, MN, Brenda Estal, Tennessee, Monty (Barbra) Reiland, Eyota, MN, Glenda (Steve) Scott, Pine Island, MN, and son-in- law Kenneth Biehn, Dover, MN; grandchildren Riley Reiland, Shannon, Brian, Andrew, and Leah, Haleigh and Mason Reiland, Samantha Daniels and Matthew Biehn; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Hintz of Stewartville, MN, Norbert (Marlys) Reiland and Gene (Gayle) Reiland of Spring Valley, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters Gloria Biehn and Jackie Reiland, siblings, Donald and Carolyn Reiland, Alvin and Karolyn Reiland, and brother-in-law Ike Hintz.

Funeral Services for Robert Reiland will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Dover, MN following the service.
