Robert “Bob” Anthony Petrillo, 61, of Lanesboro, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in a motorcycle accident near Lanesboro. Bob was born July 22, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to Caesar and Delores (Kimbrell) Petrillo. He attended schools in Winnetka, graduating from New Trier High School in 1972. He attended Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne Indiana and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Bob worked for IBM in Rochester as an Advisory Programmer/Engineer. He enjoyed playing music, riding his motorcycle, and was very active in the community. He was a Deacon at St. Patrick's, and volunteered as a sound technician for The Community Theater of Lanesboro.
Bob is remembered by four children: James (Jen) Petrillo of La Crosse; Angela (Shannon) Bengford of St. Louis, Missouri; Andrea Driskell of Bangor, Wisconsin, Gwendolyn Petrillo of Fountain, Minnesota; and seven grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters: Barbara (Ernie) Brandt and Katie Petrillo, both of Northbrook, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lanesboro, MN with Fr. Patrick Arens officiating. A visitation will be held Friday evening, August 1 from 5-7 PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church and continue one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. A prayer service will take place at 6:45 PM on Friday evening also at the church. Burial will take place at St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery in Lanesboro.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
