Robert Michael "Bob" Decker, 86, of rural St. Charles died Friday December 3, 2010 at his home. Bob was born March 19, 1924 in Saratoga Township, Winona County to Michael and Rachel (Pollema) Decker. He attended Ridge Country School and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1939. Bob and Fran Hentges were married June 26, 1954. They farmed on the Decker family farm in Saratoga Township their entire lives. Bob also worked as a Winona County Surveyor, was a substitute mail carrier in St. Charles and was and worked as a real estate, insurance and investments agent. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob played slow pitch softball for many years, pitching until he turned 60. He was a 50 year member and Past-Governor for the St. Charles Moose Lodge. He had also served on the Hillside Cemetery Board and belonged to Evergreen Masonic Lodge of Clyde. Bob loved playing cards and dancing. Survivors include his wife Fran, four daughters; Sharon (Pat Buchanan) Decker of Richfield, Pam (Kendall) Persons of St. Charles, Michele (Brad Becker) Decker of Hayfield and Marge (Jim) Cunningham of Las Vegas, NV, five grandchildren; Rachel and Jared Persons, Myles Buchanan, Brady Becker and Scott Cunningham, one great-granddaughter Addison Buchanan and a sister-in-law Izetta Decker of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by a brother Wayne and two sisters, Marjorie Furesteneau and Elsie Campbell. Funeral Services will be 2PM Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Steven McGinley of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7PM Wednesday and 1-2PM Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles.
