Robert Matthew Iverson, 54, died June 3, 2004 at the Good Shepherd Home in Rushford, where he was cared for beginning May 6, 2004. Robert "Weeds" was born December 15, 1949 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to LaVelle Mae (Niggle) Iverson (Nesheim) and Robert Wayne Iverson. He was baptized and confirmed at Rushford Lutheran Church, graduated from Rushford High School in 1967, and from Moorhead State with a B.S. in Art Education in 1973. He began teaching art in Wykoff in the fall of 1974 and was shared with Lanesboro starting in 1980. He taught a total of 27 1/2 years, including eight years at Peterson until consolidation with Rushford in 1990. Robert married Joyce Frieda Nolte at Rushford Lutheran on December 21, 1974. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Jared Robert of Rushford, daughters Jessica Joy of Huntington Beach, California, and Stefani Mae of Rushford, and Stepfather Norwin Nesheim and wife Jaerdis of Decorah, Iowa. Robert liked to golf, fish, hunt, tell Ole and Lena jokes, and do woodworking and various projects around the home. Blessed be his memory. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2004, at Rushford Lutheran Church in Rushford, Minn. with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
