Family, Friends & Fishing is how Robert Lyman Hardtke lived his life. Bob died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the age of 89 at Sugar Loaf Senior Living surrounded by his family.
He was born December 3, 1929 in Bethany to Clement and Lillian (Antonson) Hardtke. After 7 years of dating, he married Dianne Ronnenberg on July 17, 1954 and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage. Bob worked for John Deere in Dubuque, IA for many years, leaving Sunday evenings and coming home at the end of the week. In order to spend more time with his family, he eventually owned and operated Furnace Vac in Winona and later worked as a drafting engineer for Warner-Swasey. Bob belonged to the Eagles Club, American Legion and was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church.
He was an avid fisherman and loved being on the river. Bob also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; two daughters, Sandi (David) Stoos of Winona and Lori (Jennifer) Hardtke of Maui, Hawaii; three grandchildren, Dylan Stoos of Scottsdale, AZ, Shonda (Andrew) Dickinson of La Crosse and Hailee Stoos of St. Louis Park; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Sophia Dickinson; brother, Fredrick Hardtke of Dubuque, IA and sister, Geraldine (John) McConnell of Eldorado Hills, CA.
