Money CreekRobert H. "Bob" Hughes, 91, of Money Creek died peacefully Friday, December 7th at home surrounded by his family. Bob was born March 22, 1921 in Pelham, NY to Jerome and Edith Hughes. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. On October 18, 1952, he married Margaret Ogden. Bob worked at IBM from 1952 - 1982, transferring to Rochester in 1957. Following his retirement, they moved to Money Creek where he lived the remainder of his life. Bob was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston, Past Commander of the Arnet-Sheldon American Legion Post 423 in Houston, and was Junior Achievement Adviser in Rochester. He was Senior Citizen of the Year in 1992 and also Houston Hoedown Parade Marshall. Bob enjoyed bowling , playing cards, camping, and good times with family and friends.Bob is survived by two sons, Robert (Lisa) Hughes of Rochester, Kevin (Julie) Hughes of Spring, TX; three daughters, Maureen Hughes of Money Creek, Karen (John) Spading of Rochester, and Brigh Hughes of Money Creek; five grandchildren, Wendy (George) Caucutt, Dean Spading, James, Matthew & Willie Hughes; two great-grandsons, Owen & Will; and a sister, Elizabeth Coors of Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, and four brothers Paul, Jerry, Bud and Richard. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston with the Reverend Pratap Reddy Salibindla officiating. Burial will follow in the Money Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Monday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in Houston with a Prayer Service at 5:30.
