WINONARobert "Bob" G. Jacobson, 58, of Winona, died Thursday, June 5, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse.Bob was born July 9, 1955 to Lyle and Peggy (nee Maas) Jacobson in Winona. After graduating from Winona Senior High School in 1973, he went on to join the United States Army and then the Army National Guard. During his college years at Winona State, he worked for KQAL radio. Next he was an announcer at WBEU radio in Beaufort, SC, where he had the opportunity to interview many famous country music singers. Later, he was the morning announcer at KWNO radio in Winona. He also owned and operated Sounds Good DJ Service for over 20 years. Bob was a lover of music and was considered by many to be a walking music encyclopedia. Most recently, he worked as a prep chef for the Green Mill Restaurant in Winona and also loved cooking for family and friends.Bob was a funny, intelligent man. He loved doing crossword puzzles, watching comedies, running sound for local bands, and performing in Community Theater. He loved the water and especially enjoyed relaxing on an ocean beach. Bob was also involved with the program ministry Celebrate Recovery, which was very special to him. Bob was a man of strong faith, and we are comforted knowing that he is home in Heaven, completely healed and supremely happy.Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy (nee Hipps); daughter, Jessi (Blake) Darst; grandchildren,Liam and Sunny Darst; Parents, Lyle and Peggy Jacobson; siblings, Ritch (Vicki), Teresa (Greg) Zaborowski, Cathy (Bill) Lanik, Carolyn (Steve Kosidowski) Zaborowski, Joe (Lisa), and Mary (Scott Schultz) Kosidowski; mother-in-law, Lois Hipps; sister-in-law, Kris Hipps; brother-inlaw, Tom Hipps; many nieces, nephews, and friends.He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Margaret Jacobson; brother-in-law, Brian Zaborowski Sr.; nephew, baby Joey Jacobson; and father-in-law, Mark Hipps.Services for Bob will be held 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10 at Pleasant Valley Church in Winona with Pastor Joe McConkey officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the church.
