Robert W. "Bob" Fabian, 68, of St. Charles died Monday, May 27, 2019 at his home in hospice care. Bob was born January 6, 1951 in Saratoga Township to Maurice and Doris (Nichols) Fabian. He was raised in St. Charles and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971. Bob worked for Home Produce in St. Charles for a year following high school. His brother Richard graduated in 1972 and they began working for the Altura Turkey Plant. Which later became Hubbard, Simmons, Jerome and Jenny-O Turkey. Robert and Richard worked nights loading turkeys. Then days running their lawn care business. Robert and Richard cared for as many as 32 lawns a year. Bob was proud of his John Deere Green Lawn tractors. He will be remembered within his family for taking over Grandma Fabian's tradition of baking the family Christmas cookies each Holiday season.
Bob is survived by his seven siblings, Shirley (Michael) Eide of Stockton; Richard Fabian of St. Charles; Wesley (Heidi) Fabian of Hereford, AZ; Pamela (Steve) Holty of Rochester; Cindy (Dick) Evans of St. Charles; Brian Fabian of St. Charles and Tammy Loren) Taets of St. Ansgar, IA, five nieces and nephews; Priscilla Adler, Melissa Barnholtz, Shane Lepp, Michael Fabian and Stefanie Fabian, eight great-nieces and nephews; Genie, Nicole, Evan, Kristiana, Olivia, Kegan, Blaze and Zane. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services to celebrate Bob's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles, led by Funeral Celebrant Jodi Heim. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour before services. A reception will follow services at the funeral home.
