Robert E Young

Robert E. Young, 79, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Robert was born April 11, 1928, in Winona, MN, to Edward and Edna (Ohm) Young. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Marjorie R. Fabian on May 17, 1950, in Winona, MN. Robert was a mail carried for 30 years in Winona, MN. He also worked for Volkmann Appliance in his retirement. Robert was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church.Robert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; sons, Scott (Linda) Young of Menomonie, WI and James (Katrina) Young of Winona, MN; daughters, Joan (Michael) Young-Asmus of Burelson, TX and Sandra (Lance) Young-Porter of Chaska, MN; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Elaine (Eugene) Searles of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jeryl.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 11:00am at Central Lutheran Church with the Reverend Scott E. Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Wilson, MN. Friends may call on Monday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel from 5-7:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion of Winona at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
