Robert D. Jones

St. Charles, MNRobert D. Jones, 76, died Friday, July 4, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Robert Dale Jones was born July 28, 1926 in Eyota, MN to Albert and Lillabell (Hughes) Jones. Robert served in the U. S. Army during WWII. On November 3, 1945 he married Dorothy Schmidt in Bassdrop, TX. Robert was a lifelong farmer in St. Charles, MN. He had also worked in sales at Menards in Chester, MN and O.J. Motors in St. Charles for a short time. Robert was a member of St. Charles Borremo Catholic Church. Robert dedicated his life to his farm and family and enjoyed to read, play cards and play the organ in his free time. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; 7 children, Bernadett (Kenneth) Markson of Mazeppa, MN, Terry (Jean Marie) Jones of St.Charles, Robert (Ann) Jones Jr. of England, Rick (Gina) Jones of Dover, MN, Tim (Rosey) Jones of St. Charles, MN, Jim (Sheryl) Jones of Boyd, WI and Brent (Paulette) Jones of Lewiston, MN; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill.A Funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 10:30am at St. Charles Borremo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes - St. Charles Chapel on Tuesday from 4-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 8:00pm. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
