RUSHFORD, MINN. - Robert "Evie" A. Evenson, 80, of Rushford, Minn. died on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home. Robert was born on May 23, 1927, in Rushford to Adolph and Elva (Halverson) Evenson. He was raised in Rushford. Robert Served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On November 26, 1949, Robert married Helen Feine, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. He worked as a mechanic and a drove his own milk truck in Rushford for several years, as well as working for G.S. Woxland as a plumber for over 30 years. Robert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart and the Rushford American Legion. In his spare time He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and woodworking. Robert is survived by his wife, Helen; three children: Terrie (Richard) DeBoer of Houston, Minn., Gale (Mary) Evenson of Lakeville, Minn., and Timothy Evenson of Wasilla, Alaska; four grandchildren: Chad (Heidi) DeBoer, Aaron (Andrea) DeBoer, Steven Champagne and Danielle Champagne; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mavis Littlejohn of LaCrosse, Wis. and Karen (Louis) Laganire of Grey Eagle, Minn.; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Ralph Hundorf, and one daughter-in-law Annie Vining Evenson. The funeral service for Robert will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. with the Rev. Harold Hintzman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushord Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
