Rita Louise Erdmann On Thursday, February 5th, 2009, Rita Louise Erdmann, age 69, of Rollingstone, MN, formerly of Buffalo City, WI, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Rita was born on November 9th, 1939 in Winona, MN, to Leonard and Frieda (Rahn) Erpelding. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957. On January 27, 1958, Rita married her high-school sweetheart Ronald Erdmann at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA and were married for 48 years until Ron's death in 2006. She had worked at Uni-Patch in Wabasha, MN, for the last 11 years, retiring in November, 2008. Ron and Rita made many friends in the communities they lived in, including Lewiston, Altura, Benson, MN, Cumberland and Alma, WI. Rita enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and loved her different cats from over the years. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed visiting outside with loved ones where she could observe her beautiful flowers and watch the birds. "Reet" was always known for her delicious home cooked meals and warm conversation. Rita's family brought great joy to her and were the main focus of her life. She will always be known to those that loved her for her thoughtfulness, devotion to family, faith in God, laughter, and humble selflessness. Rita's days were filled with love and joy, and will be sorely missed and forever remembered by her friends and family. Rita is survived by seven children: Robin (Lee) Randall of Lewiston, Renee (Tim) Reinboldt of Nicollet, Jill Haag of Lewiston, Jodi (Steve) Schell of Altura, Bernie Erdmann of Altura, Ronny (Cathy) Erdmann of Utica, and Paul Erdmann (Elizabeth) of Minneapolis; twenty-one grandchildren: Ryan, Liza, Lana, Roby, Isiah, Joseph, Rebecca, T. Michael, Jacob, Melissa, Melinda, Michelle, Jackie, Rhonda, Amber, Ashley, Eddie, T.J., Morgan, Ana, and Ridge; thirteen great-grandchildren: Mika, Connor, Keira, Raeana, Chase, Jaden, Alexis, Rylee, Logan, Braeden, Jackson, Cole, and Addison; brothers: Jim (Marlene) Erpelding, Don (Mary Ann) Erpelding; brothers-in-law: Wayne Erdmann, Dale (Lyndel) Erdmann; sister-in-law Cheryl (Jerry) Larson, many nieces and nephews, and Rita's beloved cat, Spooky. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Ron.Funeral Services will be 11AM Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston with the Reverends David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewiston Public Cemetery. Friends may call at St. John's Lutheran Church from 4 - 8 PM Monday at one hour before services Tuesday.
