Richard L Barnholtz

Richard "Rich" Lawrence Barnholtz, age 81, of Goodview, died Saturday, January 21 at Winona Health.

Rich was born January 24, 1935 to John and Gertrude (Kiedrowski) Barnholtz in Winona. He grew up with the love of his life, Bonnie Fort, and later married. They had two wonderful children, Brian and Kelly. Rich spent most of his working life in auto body repair, most recently at Sugar Loaf Ford until his retirement. After retirement he worked part time for Winona Lighting.

Rich had a joking personality always trying to liven up the room and get his family to laugh. He enjoyed collecting rocks as he was a member of the Coulee Rock and Mineral Club. He also enjoyed making beer and wine, camping, fishing and especially cars. Nascar was a favorite of his. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. Despite all his hobbies, his family, especially his grandchildren, came first. He always made sure everyone had what they needed and always provided for them.

Rich is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; children, Brian Barnholtz, Kelly (Richard) Brawdy; grandchildren, Lucas, Ava and Leah Brawdy; sisters, Pat (Robert) Loth and Judy Oevering.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Barnholtz; sister, Kathy Pickart; and very good friend, Jerry Knutson.

A celebration of Rich's life will be held 11 AM, Thursday January 26 with visitation one hour prior at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Private family interment Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
