MINNESOTA CITYRichard "Dick" Floyd Kuhlmann, 73 of Minnesota City, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 after a short battle with brain cancer. Dick was born on September 24, 1939 in Winona to Floyd and Ruth (Haun) Kuhlmann. After graduating from Winona Senior High School in 1957, he began working at Schmidt Distributing Company in Goodview with his father and later co-owned the company. Dick enjoyed visiting with the friends he met while working at Schmidt. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Goodview for 18 years. On November 29, 1971, he was united in marriage to Elaine Timm in Winona. They moved to Minnesota City in the 1970s and spent 18 years together before Elaine passed away in 1989. In 1996, Dick was introduced to Shirley Cisewski and the two have been inseparable ever since. Dick was blessed to have special care by Shirley and her daughter, Georgine.Dick is survived by his significant other, Shirley Cisewski of Minnesota City; siblings, Beverly Manske of Onalaska and Robert (Jill) Kuhlmann of Oro Valley, AZ; step-children, Jerry Timm of CA, Jeff Timm of NV, and Lisa Timm of WI; many grandchildren and a special granddaughter, Jessica Kuhlmann of Eau Claire, WI; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine Kuhlmann; nephew, Jeffrey Manske; and a brother-in-law, Willard Manske.Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with visitation beginning at 11:30am. Reverend Michelle Rem of Central Lutheran Church will officiate.
