Richard "Dick" LeRoy Howard, 82, of Winona, passed away peacefully Monday, November 28, 2016 with family by his side. He was born on January 9, 1934 to Albert and Florence (Multhaup) Howard. He graduated from Winona High in 1952 and attended college for a short time before enlisting in the United States Army. While in Germany, he met the love of his life, Sieglinde "Sis" Ocker. They were married on May 29, 1959. Dick worked as a senior buyer for Warner and Swasey for 20 years. He loved watching his grandchildren play ball, caring for his lawn, and fishing with cane poles. He was an avid sports fan, but the New York Yankees were his favorite. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sis; daughters, Kim (George) Jaskola, Linda Howard, and Gloria Howard; grandchildren, Tiffany Pruka, Jessica, Jonathan, Jennifer, Joshua (Andrea), Johanna Jaskola, Megan (Jacob) Kafer, and Mikayla Hurlburt; 13 great-grandchildren; and his special four-legged son, Teddy. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m., beginning with military honors rendered by the VFW Post 1287, Friday, December 2, 2016 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank Susan, Laura, Moira, Angel, Michelle, and Jenny for the care they provided to Dick.
