SHELDON, MINN. - Richard A. Vix, 60, of Sheldon died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at his home. Richard was born on May 18, 1943, in Caledonia to Orval and Fern (Lee) Vix. He lived in the Sheldon Area all of his life. Richard attended Houston High School. On September 25, 1965, he married Lorayne Knutson. He worked at the Houston - Money Creek Coop Creamery for a few years and farmed in Sheldon for many years. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, softball, bowling, pitching horseshoes as well as many other sports. He always enjoyed time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Lorayne; two sons: Bradley Vix and Jason Vix both of Sheldon; one daughter, Sheila (Nathan) Holter of Houston, Minn.; three grandchildren; one sister-in-law Irene Vix of Houston, Minn.; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at the Bethany Evangelical Free Church in Houston with the Rev. T. Wayne Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Stone church cemetery in Houston. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the Bethany Evangelical Free Church.
