Fountain City, WIRichard "Zeke" A. Zeller, 69, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at his home in Fountain City, WI. Zeke was born January 20, 1941, in Fountain City, WI, to Herbert and Teresa (Clausen) Zeller. Zeke honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Jeremy Lipinski on May 27, 1967, in Winona, MN. Zeke worked for Federal Bakery in LaCrosse, WI, for 29 years in the maintenance department. When the bakery closed Zeke went to work for Witt Vending in Winona until his illness forced him into retirement 2 years ago. Zeke was a past member of the Eagles Club in Winona where he had served as president and trustee. Zeke was a jack of all trades and there was nothing the man couldn't fix. Zeke is remembered for his favorite past time, fishing and a Busch Light.Survivors include his wife, Jerry; five children, Betsy (John Ratz) Zeller of Fountain City, WI, Katie (Dave Borkowski) Zeller of Winona, MN, Janie (Chuck) Speltz of Cochrane, WI, Mike (Linda Sturm) Zeller of Winona, MN, and Rosie (Eric Palubicki) Zeller of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Andy, Shaun, Michaela, Billy, Carson, Laurel, Cassandra, Avalee and Lilyanne; brother, Dave Zeller of Albuquerque, NM; half brother, Roy Zeller of Alma, WI; and two half sisters, Phyllis Leschig of Manitowoc, WI, and Joan Smith of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richie, brother, James "Goose" and sister, Anna Mae.Family and friends are invited to attend full military honors for Zeke at Veteran's Memorial Park at Lake Winona on Saturday, May 1st, at 11:00am. Immediately following the military honors family and friends are invited to gather at Rosie's Pub (1000 East King St.) to celebrate Zeke's life.
