Reuben B. Gorder, 88, of Peterson went Home to Heaven on Friday, September 7, 2007. Reuben was born December 15, 1918 in Arendahl, MN to John and Inger (Olness) Gorder. Reuben served in the U. S. Army during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater. He married Marian Evans on May 25, 1948 in Houston, MN. Reuben was a factory worker who had worked for Archer Daniels, Swift and Company and retired from Fibrite in Winona. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson and the American Legion in Peterson. Reuben enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and being a Minnesota Twins fan, and spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Marian; daughter, Mary (Jeff Fitting) Burt of Houston, MN; five grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Torgerud, Tim Johnson, Matthew Burt, Michael Burt and Tyler Burt; three great grandchildren, Judah, Ashton and Alexander Torgerud; and brother, Sydney (Del) Gorder of Chowchilla, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Joseph, George, Amos and Oliver, and six sisters, Sara, Cora, Lela, Julia, Ann and Christine.Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2007, at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, MN with the Reverend Ron Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the Free Church Cemetery in Houston, MN.
