St. CharlesRebecca Lou (Smith) Pitcock, 85, of St. Charles, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.Rebecca was born July 23, 1928 in Louisiana. After completing high school, she married Tony Pitcock on August 11, 1945 in Alexander, LA where he was stationed in the Army at the conclusion of WWII. After Tony completed his military duty, he and Rebecca moved to the Stockton and Lewiston area where they farmed for many years until retiring to St. Charles in 1991. Rebecca also worked as a nursing assistant for over 20 years at the nursing home in St. Charles. As a farmer at heart, Rebecca loved to garden. She was very passionate about gardening whether it was vegetables and/or her flowers. Canning was something that she enjoyed as well. She also loved her animals. There was always a dog or a cat around the house to be cared for. Most of all, Rebecca was a family person. She loved her family and always put others first. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Rebecca is survived by her son, Scott Pitcock of St. Charles; daughter, Rebecca (John) Antony of Lewiston; grandchildren, Travis Hanson, Chelsey (Jaime) Andrews, and Cory Antony; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Saveya, and Brayden; sister, Elsie Harmody of Ohio; many nieces, nephews, and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Pitcock; and two sisters, Betty and Drew.Services for Rebecca will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Bible Church in St. Charles, MN. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hoff Funeral Home and Cremation Service in St. Charles with one hour prior at the church.
