Raymond William Strain, 71, of St. Charles, MN, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Whitewater Health Care Center in St. Charles. Raymond was born January 24, 1935 in Weaver, IA to Ernest and Leona (Mosher) Strain. Ray grew up near the Chatfield area. Ray served his country as a combat engineer during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. After serving his country, Ray resided in California for two years and worked as a carpenter. He later moved back to southern Minnesota. Ray's favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. Ray is survived by four brothers; Duane of Eyota, MN, Gene (Barbara) of Kasson, MN, Tom (Rosie) of Wykoff, MN, Morris (Diane) of Fairfax, MN; three sisters; Rosie (Leo) Birkholm of Baxter, TN, Lois Ries of Belvedere, IL, Mary Strain of St. Ansgar, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Leona; three brothers, Jay, Donald, and Jerry Strain; two sisters, Judy and Francis; and one brother-in-law, Jim Ries.
