Raymond Rex Marks, 79, of Houston passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan surrounded by his family.
He was born May 28, 1937 in Vernon County, WI to Homer and Irene (Bohland) Marks. On June 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to Sharon Amann. They moved to Houston in 1962, where they raised a family he was proud of and loved. Raymond was also proud of his career as a cheesemaker and manager at the Houston - Money Creek Co-op Creamery. He loved to share his life-long hobby of horses and horse pulling with his family.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon, their children Linda Marks, Paul Marks, Karen (Alan) Christensen and Alan Marks; grandchildren, April (Brent) Carrier, Shawn, Rachel, Maria, Karalee and Cade Christensen, and Brandon Marks; great-grandchildren, Cole and Anika Carrier; four sisters, Margery Getter, Arlene Hanson, Eleanor (Donnie) Robinson and Ellen (John) Runice; one sister-in-law Bonnie Marks and a brother-in-law Rick Miller and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert Marks, one sister Charlotte Miller and two brothers-in-law Kenneth Getter and Gordon Hanson.
Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church with the Reverend Linda McPeak. Friends may call from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
