Raymond Junior Gady

Raymond J. Gady, 83, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Anne Extended Health Care in Winona surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.Raymond was born October 22, 1926 in Winona to Herman and Ella (Beck) Gady. On June 16, 1951 he married Janice Erickson at the Cedar Valley Church. Ray joined the U.S. Army in January of 1949 until January 1950 and was in the active reserves for three years and was discharged with the rank of sergeant. He was a long time employee of the Winona Public Schools and the Winona Technical Institute. Raymond was a member of Central Lutheran Church, Winona Elks Lodge 327 and he was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Raymond is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Randy (Megan) of Andover; two granddaughters, Sarah & Grace Gady; sisters, Berdonna Gady-Malenke of Winona, Marjorie (Skip) Jascola of Montgomery, IL; sister-in-law, Alice Gady of LaCrescent and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold August Gady and Ervin Edward "Butch" Gady; brother-in-law, Junior Malenke; and sister-in-law, Palma Gady.A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Central Lutheran Church in Winona with the Reverend Michelle Rem officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Monday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - Hansen Goodview Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
