Raymond G. McManimon

RUSHFORD, MINN. - Raymond G. McManimon, 79, of Oak Ridge (rural Rushford) died Thursday, June 2, 2006, at his home. He was born on April 7, 1927, in LaCrosse, Wis. to Raymond and Elizabeth (Schwartz) McManimon. Raymond was raised at Oak Ridge. He graduated from Rushford High School in 1945. Raymond married Lydia "Bonnie" Bauer in Mondovi, Wis. on September 25, 1951. He moved to Milwaukee, Wis. where he owned and operated a Shell service station. In 1958 Raymond moved back to Oak Ridge, where he has farmed ever since. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston, Minn. He was active in AA for almost 40 years. Raymond enjoyed a good joke, and a card game or two. He is survived by his wife Lydia; four sons: Tim (Deb) McManimon of Owatonna, Minn., Tom (Cindy) McManimon of Chatfield, Minn., Dan McManimon (Tony Aguan) of Bloomington, Minn., and Dennis McManimon of Rushford; one daughter, Colleen (Mark) Holmberg of St. Paul, Minn.; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David, one brother Robert, and two sisters, Ruth and Mary. There will be a Funeral Mass for Raymond at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Houston. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
