RUSHFORD, MINN. - Raymond D. "Danny" Corcoran, 71, of Rushford, Minn. died on Sunday, January 25, 2009, at his home. Danny was born on August 14, 1937, in Bethany, Minn. to Thomas and Sophia (Koenig) Corcoran. Danny lived in Winona, Corey Valley, and Rushford. He graduated from Rushford High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. On February 20, 1960, Danny married Patricia Schlink. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford. Danny worked at Owl Motors, Winona Auto Parts, Miller Supply, P & J Motors, Earl's Tree Service, and operated Dan's Standard. Danny also farmed and while farming he also worked for Dahl's Auto Works and Motor Parts and Equipment until his retirement. Following the Rushford flood, Danny was dubbed the name, Mayor of Femaville. Danny is survived by his wife, Pat; four children: Paul (Nancy) Corcoran of Rushford, Sally (Garry) Swenson of Mabel, Minn., Joe Corcoran of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Mark (Jennifer) Corcoran of Savage, Minn.; ten grandchildren: Shannon (Ryan), Laura, Nicholas, Shelby (Adam), Nathaniel (Jennise), Jaclyn (Asher), Stephanie, Samantha, Johnathon, and Maxwell; four great-grandchildren: Brennan, Domanick, Evan, and Avery; one brother, Conrad (Delores) Corcoran of Big Bend, Wis.; two sisters: Louise (Leo) Heppelmann of Bellchester, Minn., and Bernadette (Thomas) Krage of Houston, Minn.; and by Nurse Abigail. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Mary Blaschke, and Audrey Thill; and one brother James "Joe" Corcoran. There will be a Funeral Mass for Danny at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rushford with the Rev. Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and also one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday.
