Raymond Aakre

Raymond G. Aakre, 88, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, MN. Raymond was born February 21, 1919 in Hesper, IA to Endre and Ella (Syverson) Aakre. He married Norma Peterson on March 19, 1941 in Rushford, MN. She later preceded him in death on December 17, 1989. Raymond worked as a lineman for 30 years for Tri County Electric. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and raising trout on his fish farm.Survivors include his two daughters, Lois Lange of Lewiston, MN and Sharon (John) Gruhlke of Mazeppa, MN; six grandchildren, Tracy (Charles) Crain, Melanie (Bruce) Williams, Heidi (Shawn) Lee, Holly Lange, Brian Gruhlke and Misty (Blaine) Biers; great grandchildren, Amber and April Stone, Taylor Williams and Blake Biers. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma and four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 1:30pm at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes Rushford Chapel from 4-7:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
