Raymond Adolph Dorn was called to eternal life on November 19, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born to August and Amanda (Kastner) Dorn, February 9, 1927 on the home farm near Lewiston. Raymond was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church his entire life. He sang in the choir over 40 years and held several church offices during that time. He attended St. John's Parochial School through 8th grade, was confirmed and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1945.Raymond was drafted into the army right after graduation and served until 1946 being honorably discharged as a corporal. He returned to the family farm and farmed there with his brother, Edgar.On November 20, 1948 he married the love of his life, Marcella Carlson in Winona, MN. He worked at Armour and Co. until purchasing a farm near Bethany where he then farmed for 22 years. In 1972 they moved to Lewiston and Raymond then worked at Home Produce in St. Charles as a commodity broker.Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marcella; three daughters, Judy (Dave) Pralle of Onalaska, WI, Joyce (Mark) Rusert of Lewiston and Janet Miller of Denver; seven grandchildren, Jerod (Cathy) Hansen, Jennifer (Steve) Volkman, Jason (Amy) Rusert, Joel Rusert, Rebecca (Jeff) Nohava, Brian Miller and Evan Miller; ten great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Jeron and Jaxon Hansen, Zach Tabor, Hunter, Summer and Briar Volkman, Nicholas Dunn, Nathan and Trevor Nohava; one sister, Selma Arsnow of Lewiston and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Edgar Dorn; three sisters, Irma Laubenstein, Alma Mertens and Nora Nelson; and son-in-law, Jerry Hansen.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston with Reverend Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 3- 7 p.m., Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Raymond's grandsons will be the pallbearers and his granddaughters the honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be given to St. John's Lutheran Church.
