Rand G. Gettler, 60, of Rollingstone, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at his home with family.Rand was born April 10, 1955 to LeRoy and Mary (Clancy) Gettler in Triumph, MN. He grew up in St. Charles, MN where he had many life long friends and fond memories. He was a very successful athlete at St. Charles High School. He was proud of setting a single season rushing record in football and having been on the track team that won the regional meet.He married his high school sweetheart Julie Keller. They were best friends and soul mates for 42 years.He had many career achievements, but he was most proud of his children. Lee is a professor at the University of Notre Dame, Kate is a registered nurse working in cardiac care, and Kristin is a special education teacher. They were the joy of his life and he could not have asked for better. He was blessed with one grandson, Leif Clancy. He also had a special niece, Jen, who was like a daughter to him. Her sons, Brady, Eric, and Chase also held a privileged place in his heart. Rand was honored to be CEO of Saint Anne of Winona. He spoke often of the excellence of the Benedictine Health System. He was proud to have served the health care needs of the Winona area for over 35 years.He also served on the Board of Trustees at Holy Trinity Church and was a past president of the Winona Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Winona Rotary Club and the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Board.Rand is survived by his loving wife, Julie; son Lee (Laura); daughters, Kate (Craig) Theede, and Kristin Gettler; grandson, Leif; brothers, Jim and Mike; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Victoria Fabian.Memorial Mass for Rand will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Reverend William Kulas officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
