HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE - HOUSTON, MINN. 507-895-3127 HOUSTON, MINN. - Ralph G. "Dutch" Fitting, 88 of Houston, Minn. died on Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Valley View Care and Rehab Center in Houston. Ralph was born on April 16, 1922, in Money Creek, Minn. to George and Myrtle (Corey) Fitting. He was raised at Money Creek where he attended Money Creek Country School. Ralph graduated from Houston High School. On June 24, 1947, he married Lillian D. Holm in Blackhammer, Minn. Ralph farmed at Money Creek all of his life as well as working with his brothers at Money Creek Haven, Houston County Landfill and managing the Houston Liquor Store. He was a member of the Money Creek United Methodist Church. Ralph enjoyed bowling, horses, playing cards, auctions, and fishing up north with his family. Ralph's family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care Ralph received while living at the Valley View Care and Rehab Center for the past ten years. He is survived by two sons: Rick Fitting and Jeff (Mary) Fitting both of Money Creek; three grandchildren: Becky (Josh) Hamit, Jon Fitting and Hannah (Ben) Halverson; one brother, Allen "Bud" (Janice) Fitting of Houston; and a sister-in-law, Joy Fitting of LaCrescent, Minn. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, brother, Rolland Fitting and daughter-in-law, Sharon Fitting. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, at Money Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Bengston officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
