Phyllis J. Percy, 83, died on Sunday, June 13, at the Lewiston Villa Nursing Home in Lewiston, Minn. Phyllis was born on April 30, 1927, in Houston, Minn. to Harold and Kathryn (Olson) Paulson. She graduated from Winona Senior High School. She worked at Archie's Snack Shop and Haddad's Cleaners in Winona. She married Richard Percy in 1949. Together they had four children: Jeff (Jeannie) Percy of Winona, Joanie (Bernie) Merchlewitz of Lewiston, Kathy (Paul) Mickelsen of Butler, MO, and John (Gina) Percy of Cleveland, TN. Phyllis loved raising her kids and keeping her home. She also loved to cook and bake, especially her Norwegian deserts and holiday dinners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2006, both her parents and grandparents. Phyllis is survived by two sons and two daughters; grandchildren: Craig (Michelle) Turnbell of Buffalo City, WI, Cory (Carmen) Smith, Brooke, Rachel, and Jacob Percy all of Cleveland, TN; great-grandchildren: Brittni Jessessky, Conner Turnbell and great-great grandson Karter Anderson all of Buffalo City, WI; one sister-in-law, Jean (Ralph) Polacheck, two special cousins, Kathleen Frickson (Ron) Moir and Norma Johnson of Minnetonka, MN and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was loved by all who met her. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Lewiston with funeral celebrant, John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will be in the Stone Church Cemetery in Houston, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
