Philip Wayne Severson, 45, of Rochester, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his home. Philip was born Dec. 7, 1967, in Rochester, to Larry and Suzanne Marjorie (Ellis) Severson. Philip attended school in Lanesboro and graduated from Lanesboro High School. After graduation, he moved to Rochester and worked at the Ability Building Center. Philip enjoyed traveling. He traveled to Alaska, Boston, Washington D.C., New York City and many other destinations. He often returned with stories of meeting famous people. He was also a fan of the TV Land channel, especially watching MASH and Mayberry. Philip recently won a blue ribbon at the Olmsted County Fair for a drawing he submitted. He will be missed by his many friends at ABC and his friend, Lars Bothun of Chatfield. Philip is survived by two brothers, Shawn Severson of Fountain and Russell and his wife, Trina Severson of Rochester. Many friends and family also survive him. Philip is preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne and grandparents. A graveside committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday Sept. 27, at the Sumner Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Chatfield.
