Peter Masyga

Peter Masyga, passed away on October 9, 2023, at Lake Winona Manor at the age of 76. He was born on July 27, 1947, in Winona, MN to Joseph and Dorothy (Rogers) Masyga.

Peter was known for his sense of humor and his love for animals, especially his dogs. He was a loving father to his children and grandchild.

Peter lived a life dedicated to enriching the lives of others through education, counseling, and his unwavering compassion. Peter began his career as a teacher, imparting his knowledge and love for math, science and physical education to countless students. He taught in Dodge Center and Wabasha, leaving a lasting legacy in the education field.

Driven by his passion for helping others, Peter pursued a Master's degree, enhancing his ability to provide support and guidance to those in need. His journey as a social worker allowed him to touch the lives of many, providing comfort and solace to individuals facing challenging circumstances.

Peter is survived by his children, Gabrielle (Jim) Koenig, Gwen (Dax) Dickson, Garrett (Jessica) Masyga; grandchild, Christopher Koenig.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy; and brother, Joseph.

A private family interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona, MN where Peter will be laid to rest near to his parents.
