Pauline "Sis" I. Connaughty, 79, of Altura died Monday November 19, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, as a result of injuries received in an accident on November 16, 2018.
Pauline was born October 18, 1939 in Lewiston to Willard and Viona (Holmes) Nisbit. She graduated from St. Charles High School. On October 31, 1959 Pauline and Norman Connaughty were married at the Presbyterian Church in Lewiston. They made their home near Saratoga. In the 1960's Pauline worked as an Occupational Therapist at St. Mary's Hospital. Later she and Norman owned Connaughty Backhoe Service and she worked with Tom Connaughty construction. She had received her certification for Septic System Installation. Following Norman's death in 2000 Pauline worked at St. Charles Public Schools as a janitor, Drivers Ed instructor and hall monitor. Pauline was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Chatfield and had been involved in Ladies Aid, holiday decorating and various church offices.
Survivors include three siblings, Willard "Bud" (Denise) Nisbit, Jr. of Rochester, Bonnie (Roger) Morrisey of Zumbro Falls and Peggy (Ronald) Petersen of Rushford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Norman, she is preceded in death by her parents.
Services to remember Pauline will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 26th at Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Chatfield with the Reverend Tim Gerarden officiating. Burial will be in Saratoga Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services Monday at the church.
