Pauline M. Thompson, 95, of Houston died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston. Pauline was born on September 21, 1910, in Houston County, Minn. to Ole O. and Engebor (Moen) Flatten. She was raised in Sheldon, Minn., and attended Sheldon School. On February 12, 1938 she married Maurice Thompson. Pauline lived in Sheldon where she and her husband farmed for many years. Maurice died in 1992, and two years later Pauline moved to Houston. She became a resident of Valley View Nursing Home in Houston in 2003. Pauline was well known for the large meals she made on a daily basis for her family and all of the farm workers. Pauline was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. She was active in church ladies aide, and the Sheldon Homemakers group. Pauline enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Larry Thompson of Hernando, Florida; two daughters: Nancy (Dennis) Forsyth of Caledonia, Minn., and Kathy DeWit of Plymouth, Minn.; six grandchildren: Patrick (Nancy) Forsyth, Taylor (Tami) Forsyth , Mitchell Forsyth, Danielle (Steven) Walters, Jesse DeWit, and Ange DeWit; seven great-grandchildren: Sam, Riley, Katie, Emma, Julia, Josh, and Erin; and one sister-in-law, Betty Miller of Houston, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, twelve brothers and sisters, and one son-in-law Peter DeWit. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Louise Stromberg officiating. Burial will be at the Stone Church Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church or to the Valley View Nursing Home.
