Pauline Marie Forney, age 85 of Stewartville, formerly of Chatfield passed away at the Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN on September 1, 2024.

Pauline was born on July 10, 1939 in Chatfield the daughter of Edward and Mildred Higgins. She attended Fillmore School and then went to work at IBM. She was a housekeeper for various hotels and also worked for Holsum Bakery. She greatly enjoyed yard work and gardening, watching television and puzzles. She was a member of the American Legion, Disabled Veterans and the Arthritis Foundation. 

Pauline married Dorland J. Moodie and he passed away on June 10, 1963. She then married Frank Forney and they later divorced. Pauline spent 35 years with her significant other Newell Delbert Holt and he passed away on March 4, 2014.

Pauline wanted to thank everyone that helped her in life. She asked everyone not to mourn, but instead live each day to the fullest in her memory.

Pauline is survived by her sister Ruby Schieber of Spring Valley, her nieces and nephew and her caregivers/friends Jackie (David) Rostad and Gwen (Delbert) Holt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and significant other as well as two siblings Laura Higgins-Erickson and Edward Higgins.

A celebration of Pauline's life will be held at Hoff Funeral Home in Chatfield on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11-12:00 with burial following in Hamilton Cemetery, Racine.
