MINNESOTA CITYPaul Wayne Nelton, 66, of Minnesota City died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.Paul was born October 7th, 1948 to Eugene and Dorthy (Frye) Nelton in Winona. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1967 and served in the US Army in Germany and the US. On July 15th, 1995 he married Karen Kiekbusch-Gross. Paul was employed for 39 years at Behrens Metal Manufacturing in Winona. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, and working on his rose bed. He was known to have the gift of gab and had a fondness for the lumber department at Fleet Farm. Paul had the kindest heart and was given so many health hurdles; however, he always came out with a shining attitude. This time with us was not to be, he was needed more up above. We will miss you! Rest comfortably and catch the big ones!Paul is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Tina Gilow and Tony (Ella Pliler) Nelton; step-children, Terry Huebner, Mark Huebner, and Becky (David) Gross-Rayfield; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Nelton; brothers, Steve, Keith, and Tom; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Phillip; and son-in-law, Kevin Gilow.Special thanks to Mark and Cole for all their love and care to Paul and the family would also like to thank the dialysis and hospice staff for their wonderful care and the Hidden Valley First Responders and Winona Ambulance for their prompt and expert care. Services for Paul will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview led by Funeral Celebrant Brittany Horton. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Paul will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
