St. Charles, MN Paul Francis Brogan, 92, of St. Charles, MN died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Golden Living Center-Whitewater in St. Charles. Paul was born on September 6, 1915 in Saratoga Township to James and Myrtle (Lane) Brogan. He was raised by his aunt and uncle Joe and Rosie Stokes in Elmira Township. At the age of 17, Paul began working for various farmers around the area and then worked at Hormel Foods Co. in Austin before serving his country in the Army in the Aleutian Islands - 503rd Coast Artillery (Anti Aircraft) during World War II. On April 12, 1944, Paul and Marguerite Keller were married in St. Charles. Together they purchased the Keller family farm and the couple farmed together. In 2003, they moved to St. Charles. Paul was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and served on its board, was on the Catholic School Building Committee, St. Charles School Board, American Legion Post #190, Saratoga Creamery Board, VFW Post, St. Charles Moose Lodge, AMPI Board, ASCS Board, and was a Saratoga 4-H Key Leader. Paul had a deep appreciation for his family and his faith. Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marguerite of St. Charles, four children, Charlene (Francis) Kronebusch of Utica, MN; Gerard (Lila) Brogan of St. Charles; Patricia (Jim) Parlin of Austin, MN; and John (Ann) Brogan of St. Charles, daughter-in-law Diane Brogan of Pine Island, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren arriving soon. He is preceded in death by his son, Jim Brogan in 2007; two grandsons, A.J. and Patrick; a great-granddaughter, Angie; sister, Vera, and three brothers, Boyd, Joe, and Lawrence Brogan. The Funeral Mass for Paul will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, June 28 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend William Cronin officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Chatfield, MN. Friends may call from 4-8pm on Friday at Hoff Funeral Home - St. Charles Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
