Paul Francis Jaszewski entered eternal rest on September 23, 2020, doing what he loved best on beautiful Lake Winona, Paul was born on July 28, 1958 to Edward and Audrey (Lamoreux) Jaszewski at Winona General Hospital. He attended St. Stanislaus School and graduated from Cotter High School. Paul was known for his love of and respect for nature. He was often seen biking around Winona and hiking the many bluffs in southeastern Minnesota. He climbed Sugar Loaf many times, Paul had an adventurous spirit that took him many places in the United States as well as China and several countries in Europe. He biked in all of these places and was grateful for the beautiful gifts that God provided. But Paul's greatest adventures were on the water canoeing on his beloved Mississippi River. He set a goal for himself to canoe 100 rivers, Several years ago, he achieved that dream. He canoed all over the country including several in Tennessee. He worked for many years at Wenonah Canoe and subsequently these last years at WinCraft.
Paul was a strong family man, always wanting to be with his siblings and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Audrey Jaszewski, his brother-in-law Andy Kuklinski, his maternal and paternal grandparents, many aunts and uncles, several Lamoreux and Jaszewski cousins and his good friend Mike Mercier.
Paul is survived by sisters Ann Kuklinski, Jane (Owen) Warneke, Joyce (Greg) Geilow; brothers John (Nancy) Jaszewski and Ron (JoLinda) Jaszewski; nieces Jodi (Dante Cox) Kuklinski Pogue, Beth (Scott) Kuklinski Raulston, Amy (Dean) the MacKenzie, Angela (Ben Stauffer) Jaszewski, Ellen Warneke, Heidi (Adam) Wiskow; nephews, Andy Kuklinski, Andy (Julie) Jaszewski, Aaron (Andi) Jaszewski, Adam (Theresa) Jaszewski, Joe Warneke, Paul (Melanie) Warneke, Mike (Kelli) Geilow, Nate (Amy) Geilow. Paul is also survived by twenty two great nieces and nephews, many Lamoreux and Jaszewski cousins, his paternal aunt, Betty Jaszewski, many friends and his good friend Roxanne Ready.
These are Paul's words on the occasion of his mom's death. "This whole experience has reaffirmed for me the basic goodness of people (in my life) and the power and wonder of the infinite. It makes me feel lucky and glad to be alive,"
Visitation will be 10a on Friday October 2, 2020 with the funeral service at 12n at Hoff Funeral and Cremation 3480 Service Drive Winona. Masks are required and social distancing protocols will be in place.
The family would like to thank all of the first responders and the many agencies who assisted in the recovery of our brother. We can never adequately express how much we appreciate you. We would like to thank the person who placed the first emergency call as well.
